Joe earned his Ph.D. in Financal Economics from UC-Irvine and proceeded to teach at Baker University in Kansas where he was an Assistant Professor and the Elizabeth Harvey Rohdes Chair in International Business. In that role he administered the International Business Program which included: teaching courses, arranging student internships, conducting a speaker program and recruitment.
After realizing that there is no place like home, he returned to teach at Cal State Fullertion last year. He plans to continue his research in international finance and to make connections with the international trade community of Southern California. He currently serves on the Political and Finance Committees of the International Marketing Association of Orange County, and recently interviewed the Honarable Loretta Sanchez, a newly-elected Representative to the U.S. House!
Dr. Greco was raised in Pennsylvania, where he earned his B.S. degree from Penn State. Before entering the academic world, Joe go his start in international finance in industry, working as a project and corporate accountant, as well as a financial analyst for an oil and gas mulitnational corporation her in the LA area.
On weekends and after school, Joe and his wife Marlene can be found chauffering their children Christy and Mark to piano lessons, soccer, basketball, and baseball games around South Orange County. He enjoys river rafting on the Colorado, skiing and extremely fast roller coaster rides!
He focuses his research energies on the financial analysis of high technology firms, financial markets, and international stock exchanges, including the emerging markets of China, Poland, Brazil, and the Czech Republic, In addition to previous publications, some of his forthcoming articles include: Structural Change in the NYSE Liquidity, Futures Trading and Index Arbitrage, Trade Finance and U.S. High Technology Clusters, and (with Dennis O'Connor) Distance Learning in Basic Finance Courses. He teaches FIN 340, 370, 371, 523, and 570 and serves on several departmental committees. He is also a mentor in the University Student Mentor Program.
