Professor Jerald Greenberg (Ph.D. Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Wayne State University, 1975) is Abramowitz Professor of Business Ethics and Professor of Management and Organizational Behavior at the Ohio State University.
Dr. Greenberg has been a consultant to many organizations, where he has specialized in reducing dysfunctional behavior, such as aggression and employee theft. In recognition of this work, he has been inducted as a Fellow of both the American Psychological Association (Division 14, Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology), and the American Psychological Society.
Among the professional honors he has received are: a Fulbright Senior Research Fellowship (1980), the New Concept Award (for "procedural justice") from the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management (1986), the Pace Setter's Research Award from OSU's College of Business (1989), and the Best Paper Award from the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management (1998).
Professor Greenberg is Past-Chair of the Organizational Behavior Division of the Academy of Management, and has been a member of that organization's Ethics Task Force. He was appointed by the Mayor of Columbus, Ohio to the city's Commission on Ethics and Values. Dr. Greenberg actively serves on six professional editorial review boards.
Dr. Greenberg has authored over 130 publications, specializing in the topic of organizational ethics and justice. He has lectured extensively on this topic, with over 100 national and international professional presentations to his credit. His current research focuses on organizational justice and employee theft. Among Dr. Greenberg's publications are fifteen books, including The Quest for Justice on the Job, Managing Behavior in Organizations, Organizational Behavior: The State of the Science, Behavior in Organizations (7th ed.) (with Baron), Controversial Issues in Social Research Methods (with Folger), Justice in Social Relations (with Bierhoff and Cohen), Antisocial Behavior in Organizations (with Giacalone); and Equity and Justice in Social Behavior (with Cohen).
Before joining the faculty at OSU 18 years ago, Dr. Greenberg was on the faculties of Case Western Reserve University and Tulane University, and was a visiting professor at the University of California at Berkeley.
