Dr. Michael H. Mescon is founder and chairman of The Mescon Group, Inc., an Atlanta-based firm of consultants, trainers and speakers. He is the dean emeritus of Georgia State University’s College of Business Administration where he held the Bernard B. and Eugenia A. Ramsey Chair of Private Enterprise, the first such chair established in the world. In 1996, he received and honorary doctorate of humane letters from the College of Charleston, and in 1997 he received an honorary doctorate of private enterprise from the Citadel, where he also holds a visiting Chaired Professorship.
Mike Mescon is the author or co-author of over 300 articles and books including Business Today, the most successful introductory business textbook in the United States, also published in Spanish and Russian; and Management: Individual and Organizational Effectiveness, a best-selling management text in the U.S. that has also been translated to Russian
He is contributing editor to Delta Air Lines’ SKY magazine and the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Dr. Mescon is featured in Nightingale-Conant’s audiocassette program, Management Excellence: Leadership for the Future. His book, Showing Up For Work and Other Keys to Business Success, earned him the Georgia Author of the Year Award from the Council of Authors and Journalists. Dr. Mescon’s latest book is entitled Memos to Management.
