Chapter Resources
The Objectives page is designed to introduce students to the main concepts developed in each chapter. A list of objectives is provided in order to create a clear focus for what the student should consider to be the most important aspects of each chapter. It is suggested that the Objectives page be continually referred to, as the student reads through content, in order to determine what progress is being made and what he/she needs to work on.

The on-line Study Guide offers multiple-choice and true/false questions, fill in the blanks, and Internet exercises for every chapter. Graded automatically, students are provided with immediate feedback, including additional help and page references linked to the text. Results for these activities, as well as the on-line quizzes and exams, can be sent to the professor.
The PHLIP/CW Team creates new Current Event exercises, linked to relevant chapters, throughout the year. Each exercise includes complete citations to the original article for easy reference. Group activities, critical thinking exercises, discussion questions, and reference resources follow each article, all supported by the instructor's materials in the Faculty Resources area.
These are activities that allow students to practice course concepts with real-world data. Each chapter provides a series of exercises relating particular chapter material to relevant Web sites. At the end of each exercise there are a series of questions that test the student's understanding of how the information they learned in the book directly relates to the real-world data provided.
All exercises are supported by the Faculty Resources area.
Included within this extensive area is a wide range of options to assist the professor. Among the various resources available are: the Syllabus Manager, a program that allows faculty to create on-line custom syllabi; text-specific Faculty Resources, including downloadable supplements such as Instructor's Manuals and PowerPoint presentations; and additional On-line faculty support with cases, articles, links and suggested answers to questions posted on the student page.
Another feature of Faculty Resources is the Faculty Lounge.
This page includes various downloadable resources.
These resources vary from book to book.

This area allows the student to submit information about themselves and save it, so that it does not have to be retyped each time before submitting homework. This also stores e-mail addresses for up to four different people for students to send their results. The information in Your Profile may be updated at any time by clicking on the Preferences button.
Feedback is a valuable aspect of this Web site. The PHLIP/CW designers are continually interested in learning how they can improve upon their design to better serve the needs of both faculty and students. Comments are appreciated and encouraged.

Syllabus Manager provides instructors with an easy, step-by-step process to create and revise syllabi, with direct links into Companion Website and other on-line content.
